Recap from TJ Hawke:
For an unnecessarily long main event, this was fairly solid. It played out like how so many of these kind of Chikara matches do. The tecnicos got some extended shine. The rudos worked over all three of them and did one really long segment (of which, Quack was the victim). There was no real hot tag, as Quack just sort of fell out of the ring (Chikara uses lucha tag rules very poorly at times). We then got an extend back-and-forth sequence to end the match. Quack recovered and got back into the thick of it a bit too soon for my tastes (on the bright side, that did eventually lead to a beautiful Quack/Claudio sequence). The bigger issue for this match though is that did not have a satisfying finish after all this build.
It ended on a DQ when icarus took off Jigsaw’s mask. That’s a *big* deal for the Jigsaw/Icarusfeud, but it was annoying considering this set is coming off another DQ. Icarus and Jigsaw set up a máscara contra cabellera match after that. That led to a brawl that the locker room cleared out for. Jigsaw did Undertaker’s dive. Icarus stole Jigsaw’s mask. BOB SAGET made their match official. Icarus screaming, “Damn you, Bob Saget!” is one of the best moments in Chikara history. Overall, this was clearly a mixed bag with some good things coming from it. (**3/4)
