Post by TJ Hawke:
The energy in this match really elevated what otherwise could have been a dull/predictable affair. In a lot of ways, it was very standard for Chikara. A bit of a brawl to start, things quickly settle down, a lengthy heat segment, and a chaotic back-and-forth until the somewhat-arbitrary finish (Wicked pinning Eddie with a schoolboy). The execution was there pretty much every step of the way though, and the quick/determined pace by everyone made it seem like a contest that *had* to be won. This was a significant step up seemingly from all previous trios and atomicos matches on the Best Of sets so far. Really good stuff, and I enjoyed every second of it.. (***3/4)
I’m going to try to point out excellent commentary more often while doing these posts since the commentary is absolutely a part of the charm of Chikara. On that note, Chuck Taylor was great here by himself. He managed to do a great balance of getting over the match and his sense of humor. It truly added something to the experience.
